Live Operations at Case Paradise
Over eight months I helped ship weekly updates, backend systems, live events, collaborations, and gameplay features for Case Paradise, a Roblox game that has peaked at over 31,000 concurrent players.
Overview
During my eight months on Case Paradise, I worked as one of the game's scripters, helping develop and maintain a live Roblox experience that has reached more than 31,000 concurrent players. My work ranged from gameplay programming to backend architecture, with a strong focus on building systems that could be updated safely while the game was live.
Unlike greenfield development, every feature had to integrate with an existing production game. Stability, backwards compatibility, and player experience were just as important as shipping new content.

Engineering Philosophy
Every gameplay feature was built with server authority in mind. The client handled presentation while the server remained responsible for validation, progression, rewards, inventory, and economy updates. This approach reduced exploit opportunities while keeping systems consistent across every server.
Lessons Learned
Working on a successful live Roblox game taught me that consistency is more valuable than complexity. Features need to be maintainable, performant, and resilient under real player traffic. Every update must integrate cleanly with years of existing systems while remaining simple enough for future developers to build upon.
